Rosemary Cook CBE
Rosemary is Director of the QNI, and takes overall
responsibility for its professional activities, and for the
running of the charity. A trained nurse with clinical experience
in both hospital and primary care settings, Rosemary has also
worked for the Department of Health and the former NHS
Modernisation Agency. She joined the QNI in January 2005. Rosemary
is a keen football fan, and follows
Liverpool
and Macclesfield Town FC.

Geraldine
Isherwood
Geraldine
joined the QNI in June 2006 and is responsible for all the
financial affairs of the charity.
This is a most welcome change in direction from her
background in arts management.
She recently took a break to work with special needs
children in a local primary school for 2 years, and now also works
for the volunteering charity, REACH, and for The Dystonia Society.
Gerry is married with two daughters at secondary school,
and is a volunteer for Traidcraft.

Anne Pearson

Anne Pearson has a background in acute and community
nursing. Since 1990 she has worked in the voluntary sector in a
variety of information and education roles and setting up new
services.
In 2004 Anne started working at the Queen's Nursing Institute as
Practice Development Manager with responsibility for the
management of all awards funding and supporting the award winners
through the professional development programme. She also supports
the Director in the growing professional and policy work of the
QNI. When she’s not busy reading or drinking cappuccino, Anne
likes nothing better than walking long distance footpaths
pretending she can map read.

Professional Officer

Alison Blackman
Alison joined the
practice development team in January 2008 as a professional
officer. She was previously a nurse for nine years: she worked
as a hospital nurse for two years before venturing out into
community nursing where she worked as a district nurse team
leader and community matron for a London PCT. Alison lives with
her husband and in her spare time enjoys going to the theatre,
doing London walks and practising yoga.

Homeless Health
Initiative Co-ordinator
Kate Tansley

Kate Tansley joined the QNI in June
2007. She is the Homeless Health Network Co-ordinator – offering
support, professional development, and a network for nurses who
work with homeless people. Kate previously ran a community
empowerment project with excluded older people in Islington -
which was awarded Beacon Status by Government assessors. Before
that she worked providing advice to disabled people in refugee
community groups, a Community Mental Health Team and GP’s
surgeries. Kate speaks Spanish, enjoys walks in the park and the
country, and is involved in ecological campaigns. She also loves
boat journeys and dreams of travelling by boat and train to
Morocco one day – with an excellent book on hand of course.

Barbara Walsh

Barbara joined the QNI in October 2007. Her previous employment
has included various secretarial roles within BBC World Service
and, more recently, as administration manager for School Home
Liaison. Barbara is married with four grown up children. In her
spare time she enjoys going to the theatre, cooking, making and
decorating cakes (the quality of which staff at the Institute can
attest to) and gardening.

Joanne Moorby

Jo Moorby joined the QNI in
October 2005 and became Welfare Administrator in March 2006.
The QNI is committed to providing financial support to
nurses in the community when they are in times of financial duress
through illness or other life crisis.
Jo’s work at the QNI centres on providing this support
and she is proud to work for an organisation that takes such good
care of its clients. Previous
to working at the QNI, Jo worked for several years in various
administrative roles in an NHS Mental Health Trust finally
becoming Complaints Manager in 2003.
Jo is married and has 2 grown up daughters.
As one daughter lives in
Spain
, Jo is learning Spanish and although a graduate in linguistics,
she says that she is finding it more difficult than she
anticipated!

Matthew Bradby

Matthew
joined the QNI in March 2008 from alcohol education charity
Drinkaware, where he managed grant-making and social marketing
campaigns. His background is firmly in the voluntary sector
including stints at The British Trust for Conservation
Volunteers, Charities Advisory Trust and Directory of Social
Change as well as some American non-profits. He also spent three
years at The Charity Commission in the large charities unit.
Matthew is involved with community and environmental groups in
Haringey and enjoys local history, architecture, classical
music, gardening and "The Great Outdoors".

Communications and Fundraising Officer
Joanna Sagnella

Joanna
joined the QNI in May 2007 as Communications and Fundraising Officer
and is responsible for supporting and developing the communications
and fundraising functions of the Institute. She has a varied background having
worked as a staff writer on a parenting magazine and later as a
freelance journalist, an administrator for financial institutions
and as a tour guide when she lived in Italy. She enjoys taking part
in
charity runs for Cancer Research and when not busy experimenting
with recipes, she likes trying to draw people's portraits.

Cathie Brennan

Cathie
joined the QNI in June 2004 as Administrative Assistant, and since
November 2006 has taken on a more senior administrative role
supporting all strands of QNI work. Before joining the
Institute, Cathie worked as an office manager for the Lea Valley
Regeneration Team; a consortium of architects charged with
preparing the blueprint for the 2012 Olympic Bid.
Prior to a career break to raise her family Cathie spent an
enjoyable 11 years working as PA to the Director of Personnel at
National Magazines, publishers of Cosmopolitan, Company, Good
Housekeeping, She and Harpers & Queen among others.
Cathie is married with three teenage children and has spent the
past two years rebuilding and renovating her home.

Deborah Hinds

Deborah started working
at the QNI in July 2007 following two
months in a temporary position. Deborah has performed a wide
range of administrative roles over the past twenty years and her
CV encompasses roles at a medical firm and solicitors. The
mother of a teenage daughter, Deborah truly believes that we are
what we eat and is currently
half way through a degree in nutrition.
