Financial Assistance
The Queen's
Nursing Institute can provide financial assistance to Queen's Nurses and
working or retired community nurses in need. There is no age limit
for this assistance. To check if you, a colleague or a friend
could receive help, see our eligibility
criteria. If a nurse is not eligible for our help, we can
suggest other
possible sources of assistance.
If someone is eligible, we will need to carry out a full
assessment of their circumstances. You can download the application
form that must be completed. If you email the form back to us,
we can consider your application, but we will need you to send us
a printed, signed copy before we can make any payments.
In 2007, the QNI
gave financial support to 91 nurses. Help was given in the form of
cash grants for living costs and as one off payments for building
adaptations, large maintenance bills and replacement of essential
household appliances. We also paid for respite care, electric
scooters and car running costs to help keep people mobile. The
financial help we can offer has made a huge difference to nurses
in need.

"It
is a great help to know that someone who you can trust cares what
befalls those of us becoming less and less able to cope."
"You cannot begin to imagine what
you have done for my life. I can never hope to thank you - words,
in this case, are meaningless, but my gratitude is immense."
