Visit our District Nursing 150 website, a celebration of the vibrant one hundred and fifty year history of District Nursing in the UK.

Awards

The Institute currently offers two Awards.

  1. The Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Award for Outstanding Service
    Founded in 1994, this award is presented to nurses who have given exceptional service to patients through nursing practice in any aspect of primary health care.
  2. The QNI Long Service Award
    This award is given to district nurses who have worked for 21 years or more in the community.

The Professor Kieran Sweeney Award, for a nursing team who wish to improve care for patients in the final stages of life, was made in May 2011.
