Various organisations are working locally, regionally and nationally, to test and implement telehealth and telecare programmes. Telehealth is rapidly entering the mainstream in primary care.
3 Million Lives
http://www.3millionlives.co.uk/ - the campaign to make telehealth available nationwide, launched in December 2011. The object of 3 million lives is to improve care for patients, and deliver that care in a more efficient way.
Whole System Demonstrator (WSD) Programme
http://www.dh.gov.uk/health/2011/12/wsd-headline-findings/ - this programme across three areas of the UK involved 6000 patients. It's evaluation by the Department of Health led to the conclusion that nationally, 3 million people could benefit from telehealth and telecare. This led to the launch of the Three Million Lives campaign.
DALLAS
DALLAS (Delivering Assisted Living Lifestyles at Scale) is a new pilot programme across five sites, under the direction of the Technology Strategy Board:
