The Maureen Acland Bursary

In 2010 we introduced a new educational bursary scheme for Queen's Nurses. The Bursaries have been provided in the name of a former Vice-President of the Institute, Maureen Acland OBE. Mrs Acland had a life-long association with the QNI, until her death in 2011. To read more about her life and work please click here.

There are no closing dates; this is a rolling scheme.

The Bursary has been used towards various projects including:

  • Fees towards a doctorate in Healthcare
  • A Masters degree in research and research methodology
  • Attending a children's health conference
  • A course in forensic learning disability practice

For any enquiries, please email anne.pearson@qni.org.uk or call 020 7549 1407.

Please note you must be a Queen's Nurse in order to apply.

One bursary recipient commented:

"Although a little apprehensive about the course initially I feel this has proved one of the most useful modules I have undertaken as part of my MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. It will also prove invaluable to facilitate the completion of my dissertation to complete my MSc."
