The Maureen Acland Bursary

In 2010 we introduced a new educational bursary scheme for Queen's Nurses. The Bursaries have been provided in the name of a former Vice-President of the Institute, Maureen Acland OBE. Mrs Acland had a life-long association with the QNI, until her death in 2011. To read more about her life and work please click here.

There are no closing dates; this is a rolling scheme.

The Bursary has been used towards various projects including:

  • Fees towards a doctorate in Healthcare
  • A Masters degree in research and research methodology
  • Attending a children's health conference
  • A course in forensic learning disability practice

For any enquiries, please email or call 020 7549 1405.

Please note you must be a Queen's Nurse in order to apply.

Due to demand, we have a policy of funding QNs once only, so if you have received funding in the past unfortunately you are not eligible to apply again.

'On an everyday level, I am now already better at drawing from a larger range of evidence to inform and stimulate improvements in the care that we provide patients. Thank you for your support in enabling me to undertake this learning.'

'Incredible educational experience.'
