Claudine Evetts QN, Lead Nurse, Addaction
I work for a national charity, Addaction. We aim to help transform the lives of people affected by drug and alcohol problems, offering a wide range of services in England and Scotland. We have more than 80 services and are still growing. My role as Lead Nurse is to ensure all our nurses are working safely and with best practice in mind, and that they are up to date with minimum training requirements and their registration renewal.
I also write and advise on medical policies. I am currently writing an infection control strategy and implementation plan, alongside an infection control e-learning course that will be rolled out to all staff. I am also creating a pool of nurses who will be trained to carry out clinical supervisionin their region, ensuring that all clinicians are supervised. And I’m coordinating the setting up of regional nurse forums, whose minutes will be fed back to me and then filtered directly into our governance structure.
