Quality indicators for community services – Neil Ferguson from DH, who spoke at the September workshop, is leading the work on these. Great progress is being made and there is now a list of ways in which you can measure the quality of – and improvement to – your services, using this ready-made menu of measures. See http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Publications/PublicationsPolicyAndGuidance/DH_109386 for the indicators that are being tested. A further, refined list will be produced following testing.
The second Transformational Guides Workshop will take place in London on 17 March 2010.

The Transformational Guides were launched on 24 June 2009 as part of the Transforming Community Services programme.

Six groups have been formed to 'road test' the Transformational Guides with colleagues, and an online forum has been set up to make communication easier. The online forum can be found at www.qniforum.org.uk . You need to register in order to be able to use the forum and full instructions can be found here.
The six areas of practice that the Guides relate to are:
Children and families
Health, wellbeing and inequalities
Acute care closer to home
Long-term conditions
Rehabilitation and neurology
End of life care.
