Rosemary Cook CBE

Rosemary is Director of the QNI, and takes overall responsibility for its professional activities, and for the running of the charity. She joined the QNI in January 2005. A trained nurse with clinical experience in both hospital and primary care settings, Rosemary has also worked for the Department of Health and the former NHS Modernisation Agency. She was also a Visiting Professor at Northumbria University from 2008-2011. Rosemary is a keen football fan, and follows Liverpool and Macclesfield Town FC.
Anne Pearson

Anne Pearson is a qualified nurse and has a background in acute and community services. She moved from the NHS to the voluntary sector and worked in health related charities developing information and education services for patients and health professionals. Anne is Practice Development Manager at the Queen's Nursing Institute and has responsibility for the management of the Fund for Innovation and Leadership programme and the development of the Queens Nurse network. She also supports the Director in the growing professional and policy work of the QNI.
Chris Kerrigan

After spending many years in various roles in the private sector, including as a hotel accountant, Chris spent the last ten years working in the not-for-profit education area. He joined FENTO(Further Education National Training Organisation) in November 2000. FENTO and four other national training organizations, which included amongst other projects work-based learning, libraries and archives, merged to become Lifelong Learning UK in January 2005. He was chosen to be the financial controller and the company grew from twenty people to nearly two hundred within three years. Chris' most recent commitment in to the charity world was at last year’s London Marathon, where he raised nearly five thousand pounds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association by walking the marathon backwards - Buckingham Palace to Greenwich!
Andrea Davids

Andrea joined the QNI in August 2011 as maternity cover for the Communications and Events Officer, Joanna Sagnella. She is now the Project Manager for the 'Opening Doors' project, which provides resources and events for health professionals working with homeless people who have substance misuse issues. Andrea has more than a decade of charity marketing, project management and communications experience spanning three continents, having worked for organisations such as UNESCO, Net Impact and About-Face. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Media & Communications at University of London, Goldsmiths and is an Associate Lecturer at the London College of Communications. In her spare time Andrea enjoys training for footraces, tending to her garden and volunteering for Bright One, a communications agency for the third sector.
Joanne Moorby

Jo Moorby joined the QNI in October 2005 and became Welfare Administrator in March 2006. The QNI is committed to providing financial support to nurses in the community when they are in times of financial duress through illness or other life crisis. Jo’s work at the QNI centres on providing this support and she is proud to work for an organisation that takes such good care of its clients. Previous to working at the QNI, Jo worked for several years in various administrative roles in an NHS Mental Health Trust. Jo is married and has 2 grown up daughters. As one daughter lives in Spain , Jo is learning Spanish and although a graduate in linguistics, she says that she is finding it more difficult than she anticipated!
Sheena Frempong

Sheena joined the QNI in September 2008 as Fundraiser, and is responsible for securing funding from charitable trusts and developing other fundraising functions. Prior to that, she worked at environmental charity BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers), where she managed trust fundraising as part of the national fundraising team. Her other previous roles have been in administration, retail, as well as volunteering with Age Concern. She enjoys reading novels and travel guides, attending museums, watching films, and listening to music. She also goes to the gym and hopes to compete in a charity run one day.
Matthew Bradby

Matthew has worked for a number of voluntary organisations in the UK and the US, in various fields including health education, youth work, environment, and heritage. He has also worked at the Charity Commission. He currently volunteers for a number of organisations in London, and is otherwise kept busy gardening or doing DIY.
Joanna Sagnella

Joanna joined the QNI in May 2007 and is responsible for supporting and developing the communications functions and events of the Institute. She has a varied background having worked as a staff writer on a parenting magazine and later as a freelance journalist, an administrator for financial institutions and as a tour guide when she lived in Italy. She enjoys taking part in charity runs for Cancer Research, experimenting with recipes, and spending time with her family.
Christine Widdowson

Christine Widdowson joined the QNI in August 2010. As Office Manager, she is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the office and is generally the first point of contact with callers to the QNI, whether in person, telephonically or via the QNI mailbox. Also, she processes orders for QNI merchandise. As Assistant to the Director, Christine provides administrative support to Rosemary Cook. Previously, Christine worked in the City as a secretary/PA at Midland Bank, Sedgwick Ltd and Accenture. Following her marriage, she lived in South Africa for 15 years, where two of her three daughters were born. Her interests are going to the theatre, swimming, walking in the countryside and being a member of a (reasonably successful) quiz team.
Farida Barlas

Farida joined the QNI in February 2011 from a mental health charity, Brent Mind, where she was involved in running the Counselling Service. She is still involved in Brent Mind’s work and deals with their Marketing and Communications on a part time basis. Prior to this, Farida worked for a cosmetic surgery provider in Harley Street assisting with managing their head office as well as working on Marketing and PR. In her spare time Farida works on starting up and managing a children’s charity. She also enjoys catching up with friends and discovering new places to eat.
