The QNI/Burdett Trust for Nursing Fund for Innovation and Leadership

This funding partnership supports nurse-led local projects which aim to improve the care of patients and to enhance the leadership skills of nurses. We support innovative projects, led by community nurses, midwives or health visitors, which set up new services or improved ways of working.

Grants of up to £5000 are available, in addition to a full year of professional development and support. All project leaders benefit from our unique and highly-rated developmental workshops. The programme aims to achieve sustainable innovation in services, and a new cohort of confident nurse leaders for the future. Burdett Trust logo

The next closing date is 25 October 2010 and application guidance will be published in June 2010.

We look for projects that demonstrate:

• new and innovative ways of workingAlzheimer's Logo
• user involvement in the development of the project
• multidisciplinary working (if appropriate)
• measurable outcomes.

We are grateful to our funding partners: The Burdett Trust for Nursing, Alzheimer's Society, NHS West Midlands and The National Gardens Scheme, without whom this work would not be possible.

"The workshops were excellent: the best personal development / study days I've ever been on. They were a bonus as I hadn't taken in, when we applied, that they were part of the award." Award winner
