Nurse-led projects to improve the health of people with learning disabilities
The QNI has announced a new opportunity for nurse-led projects in the community starting in 2020.
Thanks to funding from the Burdett Trust for Nursing, the QNI will fund ten nurse-led projects in the community focused on improving the health, care, or wellbeing for people with a learning disability.
Each project will receive up to £5000 and a year-long programme of support from QNI staff, including workshops and site visit.
Eligibility
- The project must focus on any issue related to improving the health, care, and wellbeing for people with a learning disability.
- The project must be led by a nurse working directly with people with a learning disability in clinical practice in a community or primary care setting in an organisation based in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

Applications deadline — 6th January 2020.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview in London on 24 or 25 February 2020.
Successful applicants must be able to commit to three two-day workshops that will support the project development. The dates of these workshops are 2-3 April; 3-4 June; 23-24 November 2020.
