Due to the impact of Covid-19, this garden will not open on the date advertised.

Matthew Bradby, the QNI’s Head of Communications has opened his garden for the National Garden Scheme for the past three years. Matthew is hoping to offer a ‘pop up’ opening later in 2020 and failing that a virtual tour of the garden online.

The National Garden Scheme provides vital support for nursing and caring charities, including the QNI. Please note, you can still donate to the National Garden Scheme through their website.

More information about Matthew’s garden is on the NGS website

It's been another challenging year in the garden - we've had months of heavy rain over the winter. The lawn has become a bit of a bog - I will re-seed part of it but I want to dig up the grass under the willow tree to create a shady new seating area. The mild weather has meant that lots of plants have kept growing right through the winter; there have been plenty of flowers out and bumblebees buzzing around, even in January. I've also been putting up more bird boxes to create nesting sites for birds. Now I'm looking forward to Spring, sowing some seeds and planning ahead for some vibrant Summer colours. I'm obviously really sad that I won't be able to open as planned but hope that I will be able to have some visitors later in the year and raise more money for nursing and caring charities, which now need the funding more than ever.
