Care Home Nursing Education and Practice Standards
The QNI has been commissioned by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I) to develop Education and Practice Standards for Registered Nurses new to the Care Home sector.
A survey has been created to ascertain what skills Registered Nurses new to the Care Home sector require, enabling them to work safely and effectively in Care Home settings. The QNI would like to invite all those working in the Care Home sector to complete the short online survey – https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/XRZJY7D. It will only take a few minutes.
It is essential to have input from those staff who are at the front line of caring, to enable the education and practice standards to be developed.
Utilising data from the survey, together with a review of the literature, will ensure the standards promote equity across the QNI Care Home network as this develops.

Nurses working in Nursing and other Residential Care Homes provide vital support to a large and growing population of older people in the UK. Read more about the work of Care Home Nurses.
The QNI was also recently involved in developing the Patients Association Care Home Charter (external link).
