Dr Agnes Fanning is an Independent Consultant working with the Queen’s Nursing Institute working on projects relating to the District Nursing workforce.
Agnes worked as a District Nurse in Buckinghamshire for approximately 10 years and subsequently moved into Higher Education where she managed a portfolio of programmes in Education, Social Science, Mental Health and Community & Primary Care.
She has been responsible for promoting innovation in community practice and for the development and delivery of high quality Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, Specialist Practice Qualification (SPQ) District Nursing and Community Children’s Nursing programmes.
Agnes has worked strategically with community healthcare trusts across London and the South East, providing a highly qualified SPQ workforce to meet the demographics of each area. Her Professional Doctorate focussed on innovative practice in community health which highlighted the importance of working more creatively and cost effectively whilst still being able to maintain quality of care for patients in the community.
