Candace has over 30 years’ experience in health and care strategy and policy development at a national level.
Most recently, as Director of Strategy at the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the UK’s national regulator for nursing and midwifery, where she led the development of their new 5 year strategy. Prior to that, she was Director of Policy & Workforce at the Nuffield Trust, an independent healthcare think tank, where she developed an extensive work programme on new models of care, workforce and technology.
Candace was previously Deputy Director of Policy at The King’s Fund, where she researched and published on a wide range of topics, including future health care trends, service reconfiguration, workforce planning and community health services.
She has extensive senior management experience in the NHS, including over ten years in non-executive roles in NHS Trusts, and over 5 years at the Department of Health working on strategy and policy.
She holds an undergraduate degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge and a masters degree in health policy and economics from the University of Birmingham.
