Jean Rowe was awarded a QNI Fellowship in 2008. She trained as a nurse before becoming a health visitor in 1974 after working in public health in India for 2 years.

She worked as health visitor in London for 12 years and became a health studies senior lecturer in 1986 at Croydon College. NHS Management roles include Research and Development and Acting Director Organisational Development /Lead Nurse Public Health for Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham Health Authority.

Most recently, consultancies have included maternal and child health projects for Southwark and Lambeth and Health Inequalities Strategy for Southwark Council and NHS. She was also a Technical Advisor on Care of the Elderly for Moscow Red Cross. She was a school governor for 7 years and currently runs community courses on Infant Mortality & Low Birth Weight.
