‘Dual diagnosis’ is the term used to describe patients with both severe mental illness (mainly psychotic disorders) and problematic drug and/or alcohol use.

The QNI Homeless Health Programme originally created this slide learning guidance with speakers and delegates from our Dual Diagnosis Conference in October 2014, but it has been updated this year (February 2020) to reflect new research and ways to manage it.
