This toolkit is a practical set of guidance designed to support public health nurses to engage with children, young people and families experiencing homelessness, in order to reduce health inequalities.

It is based on feedback from young people and families who have been homeless. Specialist community public health nurses, health visitors, school nurses, general practice nurses and midwives also gave evidence and ideas for the toolkit.

The toolkit has been produced by Homeless Link and the Association for Young People’s Health, in conjunction with the QNI’s Homeless Health Programme.

An associated Learning Resource has also been published, which can be viewed here: www.qni.org.uk/resources/homeless-families-learning-resource/.
